It is with heavy hearts that the family of Albert Bisson, late of Canwood, SK, announces his passing on October 16, 2025, at the age of 98 years.
Albert Bisson was born on October 28, 1926. He was the third of thirteen children to Arsene and Alberta Bisson of Debden, SK. He lived, breathed and worked on a farm his entire life. A recent dream was of combining with his brothers! In his earlier years, he was always there to show support to his family members, his neighbors and the community. Albert was ready to live out his days as a bachelor until in 1981, he took a leap of faith, married Chantal, gaining not only a partner but a family he cherished deeply. He adopted his nieces and nephews and loved them as his own. That love was returned to him in full measure.
While farming was his life’s work, Albert took the time to enjoy many adventures, family outings and gatherings. A memorable trip was to Vancouver Island with Chantal and the kids and letting Celine drive around the mountains with her learner’s permit! He was a very social person, loved to chat and laugh with everyone. While waiting for Chantal in the mall, he would sit and strike up a conversation with anyone. ‘Papa, did you know that person?’ ‘No.’ He never met a stranger. He made friends wherever he was. For the last 3 years, he loved to visit with other fellow residents and staff at the Debden Heritage Manor, Big River Health Center and Whispering Pine Place in Canwood. His Joie de vie was infectious and made you smile back. He was a shining light and an example of faith, integrity and gentle temperament.
May the Lord bless you, Albert, good and faithful servant to the end. May the Lord keep you and welcome you into everlasting rest.
Albert is lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Chantal; daughter Celine (Devan) Hritzuk and children Kyle and Danae; son Cyrille (Celeste) Bisson and children Nicholas, Colin and Mia; daughter Sr. Monique Bisson, SC; son Neil (Tamara) Bisson and son Dominic; sisters and brothers Sylva Bisson, Rosilda (Henri) Chretien, Denis (Lyse) Bisson, Sr. Rita Bisson, Henri (Lucille) Bisson, and Therese Bisson; sisters and brothers-in-law Eveline Bisson, Yvonne Bisson, Jacqueline Leblanc, Paul Lafond, Marguerite (Leo) Lafond, Louis Cyr, Simon (RoseAnne) Gaudet, Leontine (Philip) Tetreault, and Paul (Georgeline) Gaudet.
