We are saddened to announce the passing of Albert “Bert” Lavoie of Candle Lake, Saskatchewan.  Bert passed away on April 14, 2025, at the age of 72, surrounded by family.  He will be remembered for his volunteer work at Candle Lake and Albertville, SK and a successful career at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary.  He is survived by his wife, Colleen; son, Marc (Leanne) and children, Luca, Ramona, and Pacey; daughter, Krystal (Bart) and children, Nathan and Izzy; and goddaughter, Janet Hoda (Aaron Korchinski) and children, Addy and Ethan.  Bert was blessed to live a life full of adventure and laughter, but his love of family and friends and pride in his children and grandchildren was his greatest treasure.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at St. James Catholic Parish, Albertville, SK. A time of refreshments and fellowship will follow at the North Fringe Innovation Center, Albertville, SK.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Candle Lake Volunteer Firefighters in Bert’s memory.   Donations can be e-transferred to info@candlelake.ca with a note stating, “To Bert.  From: Your Name”.
