Alan Perry Vogt
October 27/1956 – July 21/2023
It is with heavy hearts and our sincere condolences to the community and family to announce the passing of Alan “Big Al” Vogt late of Prince Albert, SK at the age of 67 on July 21,2023.
Alan was born in Regina, SK to John and Frances Vogt and grew up in Regina and area. As a grade school child he excelled in mathematics, track & field events and along with the entire Vogt family had an early passion and drive for motorcycles, classic cars and anything that moved quickly. At the early age of 7 Alan took his first job delivering papers, becoming a true entrepreneur in the making. Alan and the entire Vogt family’s love and inspiration of power sports and anything with an engine led him to Prince Albert where he worked at A&D Cycles with his brother David and brother-in-law Alan Nugent. While working his way from the shop to the sales floor he became a true master at his trade. Through his early life of sales within the Prince Albert area industry he welcomed his son Kyle into the world in early 1989. Through the years he managed to become a successful business oriented single father while caring for his son. Along his journey within the sales industry he found the advice of his sister and decided to become a licensed real estate agent. Early on within his real estate career he found ways to pioneer and streamline the rapidly moving information to clients using technology and methods none had seen prior. Alan made great strides within the industry, not only winning awards of the SRA and CREA organizations but winning the trust of the clients he worked with over the years. Alan was elected the president of the Prince Albert Real Estate Board and became a licensed broker owning Coldwell Banker and bringing the franchise name to Prince Albert. While exploring his own real estate endeavors further Alan found a passion for northern hunting and fishing property. Alan went on to develop various advertising strategies and marketing techniques bringing North American buyers of all varieties to the Saskatchewan marketplace helping to revitalize a passionate industry. Alan had recently retired from the real estate industry and although battling various medical obstacles was able to enjoy his later years in life by attending tractor pulls with cousins, family events with close loved ones, and planning trips to meet the good old friends from his past. Alan would always be found tinkering on motorbikes and projects of all kinds in his garage and had recently gotten more involved within the community by becoming a member of the Prince Albert Elks Club. Those who knew Alan will remember a man who was honest to a fault and always spoke with his heart. He will be mourned and sincerely missed as a grandfather, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many but not forgotten as his teachings of compassion, love and generosity will always be instilled within the Vogt family for generations to come.
Alan is survived by his son, Kyle (Courtney) and his grandchildren, Felix and Penelope; his brother, Murray (Lisa) and his children Sheldon, Danielle and Logan; his sister, Jolene and her son Blair; his sister-in-law, Paulette and her children Christina, Clayton, Courtney, Chelsea and Jayme; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Alan was predeceased by his parents, John and Frances Vogt; his brother, David Vogt; and his brother-in-law, Alan Nugent.
