Agnes Ethel Klein (nee Swan)
1923 – 2011
Agnes passed away after a lengthy illness on August 15, 2011 at the age of 87 years with her family by her side. She was born on September 23, 1923 near Parkside, SK on the family farm to Carl and Emily Swan. Agnes was the youngest of eleven children. After living in BC for several years, she moved back to Saskatchewan and married Clayton Klein on June 3, 1950 at Stump Lake. After Clayton’s death in 1967 she moved to Prince Albert where she resided the rest of her life.
During her residency in Prince Albert she worked for several private people cleaning, etc. Later on she started working for Home Care for many years. After retiring from Home Care she continued working for several years for private individuals. After her retirement she enjoyed working in her garden and looked forward to every spring. She always enjoyed having family over for suppers and special occasions.
Agnes is survived by her son Roy (Wendy) Klein; her daughters Alice Klein and Virginia Johnson; her four grandchildren and three great grandchildren; her sister-in-law Gwen Swan and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Clayton Klein; her parents Carl and Emily Swan (nee Jones); her sisters Ruby Henry, Olga Voyer, Eva Palm, Lillian Gilbert, Myrtle Swan and Stella Swan; her brothers Paul Swan, Arthur Swan, George Swan and John Swan; her sister-in-law Renata Swan; her brothers-in-law Stanley Henry, Charly Voyer, Henry Palm and Tom Gilbert and her son-in-law Fritz Johnson.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2011 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with celebrant Val Bodnaryk. Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations may be made to Charity of Donor’s Choice.
