Adrian William Arcand
Adrian was born on a farm in Titanic, SK on October 20, 1924 to Rosina and Gaspard Arcand, being the eldest of 10 siblings. Adrian lived on the farm during his early childhood years and attended the local school in Titanic. Because of help needed on the farm, he was required to stay at home at an early age. While living at home and helping out on the farm, Adrian also worked for the neighboring farmers as a hired hand and trapped to bring in extra earning to help support the family. It was a country dance in the neighboring town of Carlton, Adrian met Cecilia when he was 17 years old. By way of horse and buggy Adrian would come call on Cecilia picking her up and taking her out as often as he could. 3 years Adrian and Cecilia dated before deciding to marry on June 14, 1945. Following their marriage Adrian acquired a quarter of land from his father, where they built their first home and began their family. Four of the children were born in Duck Lake while one was born right on the farm, the youngest of six siblings was born in Prince Albert after they settled in their new home in the city. While living in the city Adrian was employed at Northern Wood Preservers for many years. He then moved over to Saskatchewan Forest Products until his retirement. Adrian was always a happy man who had a unique and unforgettable sense of humor. As a retired man, he loved the outdoors and in particular fishing. It was his hobby to buy and sell fishing boats and to build countless ice shacks for people he did not know. Over coffee and gatherings, he loved to socialize and reminisce of old times with both friends and family. He also enjoyed watching golf and curling on TV and listening to the fiddle music often, sometimes even playing a tune or two. Adrian is survived by his wife Cecilia of 67 years; his five children Joyce (Rudy) Fiddler, Leslie (Irene Partner) Arcand, Linda (Gary) Garneau, Raymond (Gloria) Arcand and Leonard (Rose) Arcand); numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sisters Therese Kuppenbender, Leona Fiddler, Lillian (Don) Lindsay and Denise (Lyle) Leuschen; brother Felix (Mary) Arcand and sister-in-law Rita Arcand.
