SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
The Administrative Assistant is the welcoming face of the Inn and is responsible for assisting guests, volunteers, and visitors. They provide administrative support for the regular Inn programs and coordinate volunteers for the Free Meal Service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greets and directs people entering the administration area of the Inn.
- Coordinates scheduling of volunteers, supports orientation and navigation as needed, and keeps accurate records of hours worked.
- Answers the telephone, screens, and directs calls, and takes messages as required.
- Updates the master calendar and ensures knowledge of staff presence in and out of the Inn.
- Manages the bulletin board with community announcements and posters.
- Receives and sorts the mail and deliveries, securely stores guests’ mail, and updates the guest mail board.
- Cleans, organizes, and maintains the reception area.
- Inputs daily statistic data for support clients.
- Assists with processing outgoing mail as required.
- Provides general administrative and clerical support to the management team.
- Completes other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: (EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE)
High school diploma required.
- Business Admin Diploma or Certificate preferred.
- 1-3 years of administrative experience.
- Computer literacy in Word, Excel, and Outlook
- A combination of education and experience will also be considered.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:
Valid driver’s license would be considered an asset.
- May be required to be on call.
- Need to be available during the evenings or weekends.
