Abe Bueckert
(February 12, 1928 – August 3, 2011)
BUECKERT, ABE, age 83 years, late of Prince Albert passed away peacefully at the Victoria Hospital surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Dad is survived by his loving wife of 34 years Paulette, his three sons and one daughter Wayne (Sherry) and their children Adam (Ashley), Nelson, Landon; Gordon (Bernadette Horn and her son Nicholas) and his children Ryan, Allie, Sydney; Gerry (Lisa) and their children Brad, Scott; Judy (Dave) Pask as well as two sisters Chris (Harry) Pease and Mary Kott; his in-laws Laurette (Ian) Cockburn and Lillian (Wayne) Wolffe; his numerous nieces and nephews as well as his faithful companion Angel. He was predeceased by: his son Dean; his parents Abraham and Marie; his in-laws Paul and Jeanne Manegre; His four brothers Jack, Peter, Herman, and John; his sister Agatha.
Dad was born on February 12, 1928 in Aberdeen, SK but received his education in Mistatum. He left home working with neighboring farmers and cutting timber in winter as well as working on the oil rigs in Alberta. Dad began working with Moker & Thompson in 1954 as shop foreman for 33 years. Mom and Dad took over the Waskesiu Riding Stables from Grandpa Paul Manegre and carried on the family business from 1978 to 1994 and retired to the family farm south of Prince Albert but spent his summer months in Waskesiu.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 9 in the Garden of Sermon on the Mount of Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Everyone welcome. Followed by a time of fellowship and remembrance at the Kinsmen Heritage Center (Zeller’s north parking lot).
