Best Hamburger: Fatburger

It didn’t take long for Fatburger to become the number one place in Prince Albert to enjoy a fresh, never frozen, cooked-to-order burger and old-fashioned milkshake.

The hamburger chain that began in Los Angeles in the 1950’s opened its first store in Prince Albert just three years ago. Since then the burger joint has done nothing but grow in popularity amongst Prince Albert residents and visitors.

Fatburger is the 2014 Best of the Best winner for Best Hamburger and Best Milkshake.

The burgers at Fatburger are made with 100% Certified Angus beef, no binders or fillers, Hand pressed and cooked to order. Some featured burgers on Fatburger’s menu include the one-half-pound Kingburger, a three-quarter-pound Double Fatburger and of course the Triple Kingburger; which features three specially seasoned patties served on a sesame seed bun with lettuce, dill pickles, the choice of four cheeses, plus tomato, onion and many more popular toppings.

The number one selling burger at the Prince Albert location is the Original Fatburger. Myra Garcia, manager of the Prince Albert location said they usually sell 60 or more original Fatburgers per day.

Fatburger’s customers can’t stop raving about the quality and taste of their burgers. Dean Yuzik and his family made a special stop in Prince Albert to enjoy a Fatburger hamburger on their way home from a ball tournament in July. Yuzik said a friend suggested they give it a try.

“It’s the best burger I have ever had,” he said. “It’s very home style and has a lot of beef in it, that’s what I like most about it.”

Friends Grant Carriere and Ryan Dodwell from Prince Albert also enjoy the burgers from Fatburger. Carriere said he enjoys how big the burgers are compared to the small patties that most other burger restaurants have. Dodwell agreed.

“They are good and they are fresh they have great selection here and it’s worth the price,” he said.

Other menu options at Fatburger include turkey burgers, veggie burgers, plus an assortment of chicken burgers.  The chicken burgers include a classic grilled chicken sandwich, a crispy chicken fillet, a red hot buffalo style chicken sandwich and a Cajun chicken cheddar sandwich.

Milkshakes at Fatburger are thick and creamy because they use real hand-scooped premium ice cream. Customers have a choice of six different amazing flavours including strawberry, vanilla, chocolate, Oreo, mocha java and Maui banana. A different seasonal flavour is available every few months.

Fatburger is also licensed and customers can enjoy a wide variety of beers, coolers, and frozen strawberry and lime margaritas while they enjoy their favourite burger.

Fatburger is growing in popularity and since opening their first store in the province in Prince Albert the chain has since expanded to Regina. By the end of 2015 there will be over 55 Fatburger locations spread out across Canada including British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario.
