Best Hotel: Ramada

Sep 30, 2014 | 11:27 PM

The Ramada Hotel is the best place to stay in Prince Albert.

Staff at Prince Albert’s Ramada Hotel, do their best to ensure that their guests are comfortable throughout their stay. They let you do your thing so you can leave the rest to them.

“The hotel has that old world charm to it,” said Maureen Mannix, general manager of Ramada Prince Albert. “And guests are greeted right away from our front desk staff.

Guests at the Ramada can enjoy a free drink upon checking in at JT’s Pub and a complimentary hot continental breakfast in the morning. They can relax in one of the hotel’s 66 rooms that range from standard single or double queen bed rooms, and executive kings rooms. As well as jacuzzi suites or personalized bridal suite.

“And we also have a honeymoon suite which has a heart shaped Jacuzzi,” said Mannix. “And then we have two other Jacuzzi suites that are quite modern. We also have a royal and a Victorian suite, which have the kitchenettes in them.”

“We have outside entrances for most of the rooms on the main floor, which appeals to a lot of the workers that come to stay with us…they can park outside their room, they have a plug in and can just leave out the back door,” she added.

Guests can enjoy a meal within the hotel at Signature 22. They are open each day for lunch and dinner and feature a variety of menu options. The hotel also offers a 30 person boardroom, a fitness centre and a business centre.

“We have a huge parking lot so we can accommodate busses for hockey teams or semi trucks in case drivers want to stay somewhere comfortable instead of in their truck,” said  Mannix.

“Our front desk staff are very helpful and guests can ask them for anything,” she added. “I had one review where the front desk agent told the guest if I could stop the rain for you I would .”

The Ramada is located in a very convenient location right on 2nd Ave.

“We have everything right here in walking distance, we have a mall, giant tiger and Tim Hortons of course,” she Mannix. “People come into the city and they see us right away.”

The Ramada Hotel also accepts Wyndham rewards cards.

“You can win free nights stay and discounts, so it is well worth it to be a Wyndham rewards card holder,” said Mannix.

The Ramada is a member of the Prince Albert Destination Marketing Fund with Tourism Prince Albert. Through that partnership the Ramada hotel helps sponsor local community events and or groups such as the Saskatchewan Winter Games and First Nation Winter Games.
