Leason’s preseason finale a good one, Raiders 5 Blades 2

If the preseason has been any indication, Brett Leason could be in for one heck of a year.

Despite sitting out a game, Leason led the Prince Albert Raiders with four goals and tied for the team lead in points with seven in four contests.

Mark and Kaleb Dahlgren drove into the Elgar Petersen Arena on Wednesday as the Humboldt Broncos returned to the ice, not as the hockey dad and Bronco son duo like in years past, but as fans, as friends, as family.

Healing through hockey, Broncos to retake the ice tonight vs. Hawks

The Humboldt Broncos have held several events at the Elgar Petersen Arena. They held their vigil just moments after the team’s April 6 crash. They welcomed Saskatoon’s Chandler Stephenson to the rink to bring the Stanley Cup he won with the Washington Capitals.

Nobody would blame Brayden Camrud if he asked for a helping hand this year as the night of the Broncos bus crash, and the pain of losing teammates, coaches and staff remain fresh.

Buskey breaking in with his new club

When Donovan Buskey first reported to the Prince Albert Raiders for the first time since last Friday’s trade from the Spokane Chiefs, he didn’t meet the team at the rink.

Instead, he rolled in just in time to head up to Camp Hope with the Raiders over the Labour Day weekend.
