After 46 years, James Mays hangs up his referee whistle

When James Mays was growing up, he would go to the rink with his father to catch a hockey game. Like many fans have been, Mays was especially tough on the officials calling the game. One day, Mays had a conversation that would help shape the rest of his life.

The Prince Albert Raiders’ goaltenders combined for a 72.2 save percentage, but they were still came away with the full two points Saturday night at the Art Hauser Centre.

Mintos fall 5-2 to Contacts

The Prince Albert Mintos were outdueled in the middle of the game, falling to the Saskatoon Contacts (14-10) by a score of 5-2 on Tuesday at the Art Hauser Centre.

With the loss, the Mintos fall below .500 (12-13-0-1). They have one victory in their last seven contests.

Raiders shutout for first time in 60 games; send 2 to WJC camp

SASKATOON—For the first time in 60 games, the Prince Albert Raiders did not register a goal.  

Nolan Maier made 32 saves as the Saskatoon Blades (19-10-3-1) blanked the Raiders on Sunday at the SaskTel Centre.

P.A. man pens book about Canada’s greatest golf course designer
