Netflix begins charging PST in Saskatchewan

Jan 22, 2019 | 8:24 AM

There’s a provincial sales tax (PST) on nearly everything in Saskatchewan – and now Netflix is no exception.

The streaming service has licensed itself with the provincial government and began charging PST at the start of 2019.

It’s a small charge – roughly 84 cents for a Netflix subscriber with HD services – or six per cent of the total bill.

According to the provincial government, all streaming and cable services are required to charge PST and they’ve been working to get all of those services onside.
