Alicia Garlock’s remains are coming home.

The family of Melfort’s Alicia Garlock has said she has been cremated and plans are being made for her remains to come back to Canada.

Garlock became ill while teaching in China and spent almost two weeks in an intensive care unit before passing away on Feb. 15. The Garlock family was facing a $250,000 medical bill before the hospital would release her body.

On a GoFundMe page to raise money for the expenses, the family said Tuesday the bill has been paid and Alicia’s body has been cremated. Travis Garlock, Alicia’s brother said the family is still facing challenges.
