Prince Albert losing police chief to Saskatoon

paNOW has learned Prince Albert’s top cop will be named Saskatoon’s new chief of police later today.
A source said Troy Cooper will be introduced in the new role at a news conference in Saskatoon at 1:30 p.m. today. A press conference in Prince Albert will follow at 4 p.m. with Mayor Greg Dionne in attendance.
Cooper, who is from Big River, Sask., has been the chief of police in Prince Albert since December of 2012. The 52-year old will replace outgoing Saskatoon police chief Clive Weighill, who announced his retirement last June after 11 years in the position.
