Hotel employee assaulted; Daxa tracks perp

A hotel worker was assaulted when an evicition turned physical.

Early this morning, a front desk worker at a hotel on Second Ave. W. alleged he was assaulted by an intoxicated man. The man was causing a disturbance and asked to leave, but turned violent when confronted. The man punched the hotel employee several times in the head then fled the property on foot. 

Police dog Daxa and her handler Const. Kelsey Bighetty tracked the suspect to Fourth Ave. W. where he was arrested just after 5 a.m.

The 30-year-old man from Pelican Narrows is charged with assault and will make his first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
