Winning attitude prevails for Roughriders preparing for B.C. Lions

The Saskatchewan Roughriders come into the playoffs on a high after their win over the Edmonton Eskimos last Sunday.

The team knows nothing changes in their preparation, whether it be the regular season or the post season.

They've been to this party before — that being the playoffs — and know what it takes to get back to the Grey Cup and this time pull out the win.

Receiver Jason Clermont says he likes the fact they're playing in the west semi final as they work towards that next step.

“We can improve again,” said Clermont.

“That's the thing about the playoffs. I've played in a lot of West (Division) finals where we had the bye and I feel it's almost a benefit to not have that bye. Each team improves each week that they're playing in the playoffs, so we have a chance to improve, while Calgary has to wait.”

Quarterback Darian Durant says the confidence has always been there and that their mindset doesn't change with the playoffs.

“I've been telling you for the longest that we're good,” said Durant.

“Everyone's worried except everybody in this locker room. The most important people are the people in here. Just because the outsiders think we're worried, we're not. Like I said, we beat everyone in this league, so we have nothing to worry about. We know what we're capable of.”

That's the kind of attitude and mindset which should go a long way in helping the Riders return to the Grey Cup for a second consecutive year.
