Still 1,000 tickets left for the Riders’ Western semi-final against B.C.

Sunday's Western semi final against the B.C. Lions isn't yet a sell-out but the Riders are soon hoping it will be.

About 1,000 tickets are still available.

President and CEO Jim Hopson thinks the snowy weather and month-long losing streak may have made a difference.

But he adds maybe there was also a misconception floating around.

“I think the word is out that there are still a lot of good tickets available, and maybe that was part of the problem, people thought that we were sold out, but they are realizing, no it isn't.

“There are still tickets and it is going to be a great day and I hope it is a sell out.”

Hopson hopes the crowd will be at capacity by the time Sunday rolls around saying the energy from the fans helps the Riders and cause problems for the opposing side.
