Certain alcohol swabs are being recalled from the Canadian Market.

According to Health Canada, the Shandex Sales Group has initiated a voluntary recall of the product due to concerns of potential contamination of the products with Bacillus cereus.
Some strains of Bacillus cereus are harmful to humans and can cause foodborne illness.

Health Canada is working with the company and will monitor the recall of these products from the Canadian market.

The affected products have been sold in boxes of either 100 or 200 units. The following brands of alcohol swabs have been affected: Remedy Rx, Uniprix, Option+, Life Brand, Equate, Personelle, Rexall and Exact.
