Inspiration for a “Car Guy”

Jan 15, 2011 | 9:53 AM

Hello folks, and welcome to my first official blog!

I have been a car fanatic since I was a kid when my Dad got me caught up in his passion for Nash Ramblers and International Travelalls.

Now before I proceed any further , please bear with me while I explain one important thing. You’ll probably see me use the word ‘guy’ quite often.

Over the years I have met a great deal of guys who really know their stuff when it comes to our four wheeled friends. I use the word ‘guy’ though as an all-encompassing term as I have also met my share of ladies who could tear a car down and rebuild it just as fast as some fellas!

Straight out of high school, because of a childhood idol, I enrolled in an autobody repair course as I had decided that was going to be my career. One of the best car straighteners in my class, even that many years ago, was a young lady. I didn’t carry on in that career path but I still dabble in it to this day. The point is, when I say ‘guys’ well, you get the point. I digress!

I would assume that every car guy, including most of those in my car group, the Klassic Kruizers Kar Klub, has a story of something that influenced them over the years on their journey to becoming car fanatics.

Some of us become mechanics, autobody repair people, race car drivers, car designers, car salespeople or one of many other occupations related to the automobile industry.

We join clubs such as the Klassic Kruizers because our vehicles have become a passion.

Many don’t understand this passion but until you’ve cruised down the road in a vehicle that you have been able to put your personal touch on or one that holds special meaning to you for whatever reason, it may not be something that can be explained….you’ll have to live it.

I am going to make my best effort to keep my ramblings short in the future and bring you thoughts and goings-on from our Kar Klub family.

Please visit us at http://www.klassickruizerskarklub.ca/ and maybe some of our Kar Kraziness will rub off on you!

Keep the rubber side down!
