Kindergarten Come Read with Me program at St. Michael’s School
St. Michael School is pleased to be offering a “Come Read With Me” program this year.
This program is open to any interested parents who have a child in Kindergarten.
There are 4 sessions taking place. The first will be held on Wednesday, January 26th from 3:15 – 4:45 p.m. in the library. The goal of the “Come Read With Me” program are:
To help parents appreciate and understand their role as their child’s first and important teacher.
To encourage reading as a fun and valuable activity for both parents and children.
To use children’s books to strengthen bonds and relationships.
To assist parents at all levels of literacy in helping their children develop pre-reading and reading skills.
To use children’s books to explore relevant themes and topics that relate to individual and family situations.
To create support networks within the program that may lead to greater community involvement.
To encourage life –long learning.
The “Come Read With Me” program has a 10 family limit.
Each session includes a snack and a free book for each family to keep.
