Addictions poster contest for Prince Albert students

Jan 19, 2011 | 5:58 AM

Elementary and high school students are being asked to submit visual and literary art for an addictions poster contest.

The contest is all about promoting good choices in life.

Elaine Perkins, of the Prince Albert and Paddockwood Royal Purple, said local judges will pick a few winners among the entries.

Entries can be anything from a poem to a picture to a video as long as it runs along the theme of making positive choices.

“These young ones, their ideas and their imagination are just unreal and they can make a fair dollar in their entries,” Perkins said.

Besides a cash prize, the winning submission could go on to compete provincially and then nationally.

If the students make it that far then Perkins said the student’s school could be apart.

“They are awarded for doing this within the schools.”

Submissions can be given to the Elk's Hall at 93-8th Ave East until Jan. 31.
