Warm weather to turn cold

Jan 27, 2011 | 11:04 AM

There is a snowfall warning for the Prince Albert National Park, Lakeland, and La Ronge areas.

Between 10 and 15 centimetres of snow are expected to fall, beginning this afternoon and going into Friday.

The snow manages to miss the city.

“The main swath of snow will be north of the city, that’s where the snowfall warnings are. The City of Prince Albert itself should see only light (precipitation) today,” said John Paul Cragg, a warning preparedness meteorologist with Environment Canada.

Today could be the last day for warm temperatures in Prince Albert.

“Temperatures could get above zero again today and with the melting they could affect driving when it cools off and starts to freeze,” Cragg said.

The cooling will continue into the weekend he said.

“Starting Friday, temperatures should dip during the day on Friday to -8 C and by Saturday we’ll be looking at highs of -18 C and Sunday -21 C.”

Cragg said that with the cold, they are expecting sun.
