Visitor restrictions at Victoria Hospital and Herb Bassett

Visitor restrictions are in place at Victoria Hospital and the Herb Bassett care home.

Visiting will be limited for the pediatric unit at Victoria Hospital, as well as the Golden Hill unit at the Herb Bassett Home.

The Prince Albert Parkland Health Region says several people in the care home and the hospital are showing symptoms of a gastro-intestinal illness.

The Region has not yet had confirmation of the specific cause and samples have been sent to the provincial laboratory for testing.

The people showing symptoms have been isolated.

Visitors meanwhile are being asked to re-schedule their visits until the outbreak is declared over.

If your visit is considered more urgent in nature, you should report first to the nursing station.
Visitors are asked to perform hand hygiene upon entering and leaving the unit.
