Wall in London for meetings with investors

Feb 23, 2011 | 6:51 AM

Premier Brad Wall is in London for a trip that includes meetings with BHP's Andrew MacKenzie as well as business executives and members of the world's global investment community.

“London is one of the world's three largest financial centres and the United Kingdom is the 3rd largest investor in Saskatchewan ($25 million, 2010 projection),” Wall said, in a press release Tuesday.

“Saskatchewan's exports to the (UK) grew faster than for any other Canadian province over the past five years, and they are the largest market for our uranium. It just makes sense to take some time to nurture and expand on that relationship.”

Wall will meet at Canada's High Commission in London with representatives from Shell, Rolls-Royce, Siemens and EDF, the largest nuclear operator in the UK.
