Layton determined to get NDP seats in Saskatchewan
Jack Layton is determined to get seats in Saskatchewan. The federal New Democrat leader made his second campaign stop in the province Saturday, speaking to over 700 supporters at an NDP rally in Saskatoon.
Layton is concerned about conditions in northern Saskatchewan. Ensuring a basic standard of living for first nations is a significant part of their platform. However, Layton believes having former FSIN chief, Lawrence Joseph, as a candidate in a key northern riding will be an asset.
“With a voice like Lawrence Joseph in the House of Commons, speaking with the power and conviction that he has, this is going to make a big difference,” Layton said.
Layton also made an appearance in La Ronge.
