Explosion in Regina home
A home in Regina is in ruins after an explosion early Monday morning.
A house down the street on Norris Road also caught fire about an hour after the explosion.
It wasn't the only house in the neighbourhood to catch fire in recent days. A house on Woodlawn Place had a fire on Sunday morning. It sits next to the Shannon Road one that exploded. Investigators determined the fire in the Woodlawn Place home started near the furnace.
On Monday, at around 4:30 a.m. firefighters were called to a fire on Shannon Road, which is sandwiched between Grant Road and the Trans-Canada highway. Residents say the “boom” could be heard from several blocks away. Fire crews dumped water on the rubble and a next-door house in the hopes of keeping it from going up in flames too.
