Two phase plan announced to revitalize Regina with stadium, housing

A plan known as Regina Revitalization is being unveiled by the mayor of Regina and involves redeveloping the CP rail yards in downtown Regina as well as the Mosaic Stadium site.

The plan would unfold in two phases. First, The first phase would see the CP land re-developed to include retail, commercial and condo development. The City's website also mentions “a new entertainment facility that would be the home for arts, culture, entertainment, trade as well as amateur and professional sport” for that area.

The second phase would see the Mosaic Stadium property re-developed. About 700 residential units would be constructed as would more than 100,000 of commercial space.

However, before any of this can begin, a corporation known as Regina Revitalization Inc. must be created, according to the City's website. It would ensure this plan moves forward. Details about it are expected in the comin weeks.
