HSAS strike action Monday, SAHO meeting Tuesday

The Health Sciences Association of Saskatchewan will be taking job action on Monday morning, said HSAS President Cathy Dickson

Dickson said a meeting with the Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations is planned for Tuesday in Saskatoon, but the union can’t take any chances.

“We’ve learned in the last two years (with SAHO) that we can’t take anything for granted, we’re not getting out hopes up,” Dickson said.

“So we’re going to go ahead with job action on Monday.”

Dickson didn’t hint at if it will be a general strike but she did say they will let the public know on Monday morning.

HSAS wants binding arbitration, but SAHO wants to give negotiations another chance.

The Health Sciences Association of Saskatchewan has been without a contract since 2009.
