EMS Week May 15-21

This week is emergency medical services week in the city, province and across Canada. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) pays tribute to the men and women, who every day work hard to provide exceptional patient care to our citizens. It is through the life saving skills of our professional paramedics, that we are proud to celebrate their achievements.

This year’s theme is EMS “Everyday Heroes.” The symbolism of hero is someone who has done extraordinary achievements. One who steps away from the “normal” routine to do great things.

Our everyday heroes, our paramedics, provide that exceptional care each and every day.

Whether that is assisting in the out of hospital birth of a new baby, life saving care of a serious trauma victim or the comfort given to someone whose facing unexpected health challenges, Parkland Ambulance Paramedics are those exceptional home town heroes.

In our community, everyday and in many ways, the men and women behind the uniform of a Parkland Ambulance Paramedic are everyday heroes.

Their achievements are many but just ask someone who’s been on the receiving end of their care.

Without a doubt when help was needed the proficient yet calm demeanor of the paramedic made all the difference. When we consider our mobile health services start caring for you from the second you call right through every aspect of your emergency, we are the hope in times of need.

This week we salute the men and women of Parkland Ambulance Care for all they do in the community. This week maybe a simple thank you, a hug or friendly wave from our citizens can express your gratitude.
