Preaching in Peru – Blog

May 22, 2011 | 8:33 AM

We have now returned from Barranca and are back in San Isidro, Lima.

This evening, I was teaching a fairly large group of praise and worship leaders in Iglesia Biblica Emmanuel in San Isidro, a church started by Pastor Umberto Lai. A couple of years ago, Pastor Umberto started a political party in Peru and ran for President. Though he was not elected, he used the next years to build his party based on Christian principles. In the recent election in April, he was elected as a Congressman.

My teaching to the praise and worship leaders centred around our ability to let the anointing of God, inside of us, to “leak out” to others. Many of these leaders were visibly touched.

After this session, Jess (Camalari) and I took in a bit of a Christian Rock Concert. There were an estimated 800 to 900 young people in attendance. Quite a show – these young people showed us that there is hope in the world, but that it can only be found in the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Tomorrow morning, Jess will be giving his testimony at two church services held in Surco-Lima, one of CHAKAM`s sub-campuses.
In the evening, we will start a Healing Conference in Tablada de Lurin, a squatter community in the sandhills of Lima. This will be a three evening event. They are expecting about 100 to 150 people per evening. We are believing God that many people will be healed.

We will soon come to the end of our outreach to Peru. We will miss the people, particularly the children, the weather, the food… we are planning to return sometime in the late Fall. If anyone out there in Prince Albert wants to join us, please CHAKAM School of the Bible at 922-0100.

We will be missing you, Peru!!!!!
