Premier Brad Wall visits southeast Saskatchewan

Premier Brad Wall was in Southeast Saskatchewan this past week as the area continues to deal with, what seems like, a never-ending flood season.

As many farmers are being forced to give up on seeding this year because of the excess of water, Wall said they aren’t the only ones being affected.

“We also have basically the oil industry, which is very big in the southeast. One of the biggest conventional plays right now anywhere in North America and it’s really shut down, as well, by the weather,” said Wall, adding the roads will also need a lot of work.

“Infrastructure concerns are big there. The roads are already heavily used by the oil industry and agriculture is under a lot of stress and now the flood.”
