Mosquito numbers down in Regina

Right now, mosquito numbers in Regina are less than half of what they usually are at this time of year.
Wade Morrow, Regina’s supervisor of pest management, says conditions have done a lot to control the insect’s numbers.
“The big improvement is the weather conditions. We’ve seen a lot less rain over the last couple weeks and the hot weather has really helped us out,” said Morrow.
Morrow did say that culex tarsalis, the type of mosquito that carries the West Nile virus, has been found.
