Is the ’69 Dodge Charger, in Fact, The Greatest Car of All Time?

Aug 4, 2011 | 11:11 AM

I have not made it to the computer for a while to jot down any thoughts but what can I say…..it’s summer! That time of the year when a young man’s fancy turns towards well, you know, cars! At least that is my observation.

My aim with today’s blog is to stir the proverbial pot. Let’s get the car fanatics brains churning with an age old question (I can be such a pot stirrer when I want to be!)

I would like to take this opportunity to state that the 1969 Dodge Charger is the greatest muscle car of all time and the most iconic one as well. Did you hear that pin drop? Who knows if it actually is or not but I like to think so. I grew up wanting to be Bo Duke and to do those awesome jumps with the General Lee. It has always been a dream of mine to one day own a General Lee complete with Dixie horns and all the trimming. How cool would that be!

Granted, that is my fantasy but I know in this vastness that they call the internet, there has to be some different opinions on the subject, possibly.

What do you think the greatest muscle car is of all time? What is the most iconic car of all time? Email your thoughts to the Klassic Kruizers Kar Klub, attention Don (or Woody) at klassickruizerskarklub@gmail.com. In a future blog I will put together the results and tell you what everyone thought.

So whether you agree with me about the 69 Charger or maybe you think the 75 AMC Pacer was the King of the hill, send in your thoughts and we’ll see what we come up with. By the way, I had a 75 AMC Pacer; muscle car is a huge stretch but definitely iconic!

Shiny side up!
