Tree set ablaze on Second Ave

Emergency crews responded to a tree on fire at around 5:25 this afternoon at the corner of Second Avenue West and 32nd Street.

Fire crews say a man set the tree on fire and that it appeared it was also serving as a makeshift home for him.

City crews were actually the first to respond. They happened to have hydrant equipment and a hose and managed to keep the flames down until fire crews arrived.

No one was injured in the incident.
