UPDATE Semi ablaze near Rosthern

As of Monday evening there was still no official information about a semi truck which caught fire near Rosthern on highway 11.

The burning semi was reported to our newsroom around 4 p.m. today. “The flames were huge,” said Brock Bosker, who drove past the flaming wreck while driving toward Prince Albert.

Plumes of thick black smoke could be seen billowing into the air. A local fire department responded to the blaze and were still mopping up the scene as of 7 p.m..

The southbound lanes were closed down for a period of time.

Calls our newsroom made to the RCMP were not returned.
