Rape suspect arrested in Sask. after 12 months on the run

A man who had been running from the RCMP for a whole year has finally been arrested.

On May 11, 2014, mounties in Wadena recieved a complaint from a health-care worker that a girl under the age of 16 had been raped.

An investigation led to charges against Vincent Alex Desjarlais, now 49, of Kylemore, Sask.

Descriptions were provided to the media in July 2014, and again in December when no trace of Desjarlais could be found. Police said he was actively trying to evade them, and he could be anywhere in Saskatchewan or Manitoiba.
