Bail sought for one of four charged in weeknight spree

Three teenagers – aged 15, 16, and 18 – have been released and one man is still in custody after about 30 vehicles were gone through overnight on Tuesday.

Police arrested the four suspects early Wednesday morning on the heels of a Crescent Acres-neighbourhood garage break-in.

The home’s resident called police after hearing a noise coming from the garage. Police linked the two youths and two 18-year-olds to 30 vehicles that had been rifled through after finding property linked to break and enters and other property offences.

Prince Albert police believe an unlocked car containing a garage door opener led to that break-in.

Shakeil Frenchman, 18, has a show cause hearing scheduled for Friday morning.

Reily Masuskapoe, also 18, is scheduled to be in court on May 25 and is currently not in custody. He was released in advance of his scheduled May 25 court appearance.

The two youths are no longer in custody, with one appearance scheduled for May 25 and another for July 15.

The four suspects are charged with break, enter and theft, possession of stolen property and breach of court orders, among other things.

In the wake of this incident, Prince Albert police reiterate the importance of locking vehicles and keeping valuable out of sight.
