Dinner fundraiser helping Nepal earthquake recovery

May 18, 2015 | 3:16 PM

The Nepalese community in Prince Albert is coming together once again to raise funds for the survivors in Nepal.

Mark Tamang, formerly from Nepal, is using his years of cooking experience to put together an extravagant eastern-style meal.

For those who enjoy the savoury and spicy East Indian flavours, this may be enticing.

“It’s going to be a huge variety of dishes,” said Tamang. “There’s butter chicken, Chinese noodles, Tandoori chicken, like some of those things.”

The event will feature a small presentation on the devastation that has hit Nepal and what donations will be doing to help.

The event runs at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday evening and tickets are $20.00 which can either be pre-purchased at Travelodge, or they can be bought at the door for the same price.

There will also be a silent auction for a one-night resort stay.

All money raised will be matched by the government and handed off to the Red Cross to be immediately put to use towards humanitarian aid in Nepal.
