No repeat for Swenson at the Lobstick

Prince Albert’s Greg Swenson won’t be heading to the final round ot the Men’s Lobstick this year, as he lost to Kyle Wiebe.

The defending champion defeated Saskatoon’s Brad Phelps in Friday morning’s championship flyte quarterfinal round and reutrned to the course shortly after in a head-to-head semi-final battle with Kyle Wiebe. Swenson’s opponent from Madison ousted former champion Warren Knam of Medicine Hat in the quarterfinals.

Wiebe will be facing Prince Albert’s Brett Henry in the finals. Henry moved past Taylor Afseth in the semifinal round.

Afseth advanced with a Friday morning quarterfinal victory over Senior Lobstick champion Colin Coben of Delisle. He also beat Coben in a playoff last August to win the Northern Men’s Amateur title at Cooke.
