Police are investigating after the grisly discovery of human remains on a sandbar just outside of Saskatoon.
The scorching heat brought many swimmers to cool down in the South Saskatchewan River, but Saturday afternoon someone called RCMP after finding the remains just north of the Beaver Creek Conservation Area.
RCMP said officers and members of the Forensic Identification Section went to recover the body near Victor Road in Corman Park.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday to help determine the cause of death, as well as the person’s identity.
