Guhle impresses Sabres at prospect camp
Prince Albert Raiders defenceman Brendan Guhle was the only player at Buffalo Sabres development camp to not have had already celebrated his 18th birthday.
But that didn’t stop the Guhle from impressing the Sabres brass July 6-12 in Buffalo at the prospects camp. The Sabres even asked Guhle, who they drafted 51st overall in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, to stick around for another week to continue training.
“I think I performed really well considering I was the youngest or one of the youngest players there,” said Guhle, who will officially become an adult on July 29th. “I think I didn’t have much expectations really, but I did exceed the expectations I did have. I got a lot of positive feedback from the organization.”
The feedback came mostly from the player development coaches, one of them being Adam Mair who played briefly with Raiders associate coach Dave Manson with the 2000-2001 Toronto Maple Leafs.
