PHOTOS: Celebrity Golf Tournament raises SPCA funds famously

Community members and celebrities have been busy tee’ing off for a good cause in Prince Albert.

The 6th Annual SPCA Fore for Pets Celebrity Golf Tournament was held at Cooke Municipal Golf Course on Thursday.

Some of the celebrities include America’s Next Top Model Keith Carlos, UFC fighter Mitch Clarke, the UFC’s only fighter from Saskatchewan, Saskatchewan Roughrider Andrew Greene and Dan Rashovich, country artist Charlie Major and a number of Olympic athletes, playmates and TV personalities.

Over $50,000 was raised which will go towards helping fund the mortgage of the new Prince Albert SPCA shelter and the ongoing care of the animals.

SPCA director of events Sherry Oullette said the fundraiser went off without a hitch. 

Oullette would like to thank everyone who helped out including Charmaine Pauli, Rob Gautier and Margaret Neighbors and the Prince Albert Inn, Tyler Birkland and Boston Pizza, Wes Thompson & TNT Auto, Ducks Unlimited, Photography by Laurel, Eric and Myron Schmalz Auctions, Chris West from the PA Exhibition Association, Jessica at PA Photocopier, Cornerstone Insurance, Econo Lumber, Leon’s Furniture, Rally Motors, Pattison Group, Saskatchewan Roughrider Alumni Andrew Greene and Dan Rashovich, CJVR/CJWW, Darcy’s Pro Shop, PA Northern Bus Lines, Dairy Queen, Northern Lights Casino, Tim Hortons, Harold’s Fine Foods, PA Autobody, Maxwell Music and all of the talented celebrities who helped out from around the globe.

Oullette also said she appreciates the donations from course sponsors and vendors for supplying the entertainment and refreshments for the golfers, as well as the participation of all of the teams who entered the tournament.

“There are no words to express the overwhelming sense of gratitude for everyone who supported this event,” said Oullette in a statement. “So I will simply say, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.”
