Police report violent weekend in Prince Albert

Both Prince Albert Police and Parkland Ambulance paramedics responded to a number of assaults over the weekend.

Here are some of the highlights:

Late Friday night, police responded to an assault in the 2900 block of 2nd avenue west.

Patrol members attended and the investigation revealed that a 20-year-old woman had been assaulted.

Two teenage girls, ages 15 and 16, were later arrested and will appear in court this week.

Parkland Ambulance reports the victim sustained minor injuries.

Around 9p.m. Saturday night, police responded to a family dispute in the 1200 block of 28th street east.

The investigation revealed that a 19-year-old woman had been assaulted. When the officers attempted to arrest a 21 year old man for the assault, the police officers were also assaulted.

The 21-year-old now faces charges of assault and assaulting a Police Officer.

Sunday morning, shortly after 5a.m., police were called to the 1400 block of 6th avenue east to assist Parkland Ambulance.

A man had been assaulted with a weapon. The man was transported by Parkland Ambulance to Victoria Hospital for undetermined injuries. Police continue to investigate
