Keep Prince Albert and Area Beautiful Fall Clean-Up
The committee to Keep Prince Albert and Area Beautiful is planning a fall community cleanup for the Prince Albert area. Local community groups and individuals are encouraged to take part on Saturday, September 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to help clean up illegal dumpsites in and around Prince Albert.
Anyone interested in volunteering with the group on September 19 is asked to meet at the Highway 2 North rest area, across from the fire centre. Bags and gloves will be available to those who want to help with the cleanup.
The Keep Prince Albert and Area Beautiful project continues to grow since its initial launch in April. Since the project started, more than 17,000 kilograms of waste and garbage has been cleaned up with the help of our project partners, community volunteers and local government and community organizations. More than half of the 80 dumpsites originally identified at the start of the project have been cleared of debris.
“We’re thrilled with the amount of waste that has been cleared since April and we’re hoping the community will come out once again on September 19 to help us as we target more of these illegal dumpsites,” said project spokesperson Charlene Tebbutt.
