Skateboard Park closes for much needed upgrades

After ten seasons of use, the Kinsmen Skateboard & BMX Park is closed for renovations.

The City of Prince Albert Community Services Department announced on Monday the Skateboard Park, part of the south parking lot of the Art Hauser Centre, will be closed for maintenance until Wednesday, Sep. 23.

The park opened in 2006 and has been used by the community during every spring and summer season since. Because of this, some upgrades are now needed including work on concrete, drains and rails.

In total, $20,000 has been allocated for the project. The funding is coming from a surplus in community grants and will not be taken from the City’s budget.
