Guhle off to Sabres camp; Raiders rookie tourney recaps
It shouldn’t come to any surprise, but Brendan Guhle is heading to the Buffalo Sabres main camp Sept. 17-24.
Guhle was drafted by the Sabres in the second round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He attended the Sabres rookie camp and got an assist in two Prospect Challenge games. His assist was on the power play in a 6-2 win over the New Jersey Devils on Saturday in Buffalo.
Guhle isn’t the only Raider looking to impress NHL teams. Reid Gardiner and Mackenze Stewart have been with the Vancouver Canucks, Hunter Warner with his childhood favourite Minnesota Wild, Nick McBride with the Los Angeles Kings and Matteo Gennaro with the Winnipeg Jets.
Gardiner is the only Raider to have scored a goal so far in rookie tournaments, doing so in the 2015 Young Stars Classic in Penticton, B.C. tournament against Gennaro’s Jets on Sunday.
