Boy, 14, charged with manslaughter accused of stealing gun used in shooting death
A 14-year-old boy charged in relation to Saskatoon’s sixth homicide of the year is now charged with stealing a gun linked to the shooting.
Police say the gun used in the shooting was reported stolen from a car in northwest Saskatoon two days before a 15-year-old boy was killed.
The 14-year-old accused is now possession of stolen property under $5,000 and possession of a firearm obtained in the commission of an offence. On Monday, he was charged with manslaughter and criminal negligence causing death.
Saskatoon police have said the two boys knew each other and the shooting was not a random act. The victim was found dead on Labour Day evening after police were called to a home on Avenue Q South and 19th Street.
