Volunteer Opportunities – PAPHR

Prince Albert Parkland Health Region Volunteer Service Opportunities for the week of October 5, 2015

The Volunteer Services Department of the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region is in need of caring, compassionate and committed volunteers to fulfill the following service positions:

Peer Navigator – Victoria Hospital

Volunteers are needed to assist and support newly-diagnosed cancer patients through the network of health and support systems in place. Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring heart are necessary for this position.

Shifts: Flexible, as needed and agreed upon with the patient.

Mental Health – Victoria Hospital

Volunteers will assist selected clients with recreational programs, etc.

Shifts: Days, evenings or weekends

Influenza Clinic Volunteers

Personable, friendly and organized Volunteers are needed from October to December of 2015 to greet clients and assist with the flow of visitors at Public Health and PAPHR Staff Influenza Clinics. Flu Clinics are held at several Prince Albert and rural sites.

. Volunteer Shifts are 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. 

Days are flexible, Monday through Friday and/or according to your availability.

Emergency Department Volunteer Navigator – Victoria Hospital

Volunteers provide navigational assistance to families/visitors of patients in the Emergency Department. Evening shifts are now available

Shifts: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.; 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.; 3:00 p.m. – 6:00p.m. Monday – Sunday: Once or twice per week.
