Car accidents keep paramedics busy on weekend

Parkland Ambulance responded to 63 calls over the weekend, the most significant of which were car accidents.

Two men were struck by a car on the Sturgeon Lake Reserve on Friday. Both were taken to hospital and are in good condition.

A car crash at 3rd Ave. and 22nd St. E sent a 64-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman to hospital Saturday afternoon.

On Saturday night paramedics responded to a 60-year-old man who was struck by a car at the intersection of 6th Ave. and 6th St. E. He sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for further care.

Paramedics were called to an assault just before midnight in the 900 block of Central Ave. They cared for a 20-year-old woman with minor injuries.

Parkland Ambulance reminds everyone to frequently wash their hands, and to stay home if sick.

Prince Albert Police Service responded to approx. 182 calls from Friday night to noontime Sunday.

Eighteen people were taken into police custody, 10 of which were for public intoxication.

Intoxicated persons, disturbance, and impaired driving were the cause of most calls.
