More restrictions announced near the bridge

As the ‘Big Dig’ nears completion, the city is warning residents of a few more restrictions.

Starting Thursday morning, 12th Street West, near the Diefenbaker Bridge, will be closed to allow for paving work to be completed.

The work will start at 9 a.m. Thursday morning and wrap up Sunday.

 

Other restrictions currently in place:

  • No right turns will be permitted from 12th Street turning north onto the Bridge
  • Through traffic will be permitted, both lanes in each direction, for east/west traffic on 15th Street
  • Through traffic will be permitted, one lane in each direction, for north/south traffic on 2nd Avenue
  • Left turns will be permitted in the intersection with the exception of southbound traffic turning eastbound onto 15th Street
  • No right turns are permitted on 15th Street turning north on 2nd Avenue for large trucks or vehicles over 7m (use 1st Avenue West or 6th Avenue East)

 

Trucks over 12 feet wide must call public works at (306) 953-4900 to arrange for a permit.

Work on the ‘Big Dig’ is expected to wrap up by Nov. 2.
