Raiders can’t stop, won’t stop and win seventh straight
Rylan Parenteau had some awful luck last year in trying to keep a clean sheet in goal with the Prince Albert Raiders, but went his rookie season shutout trying to get a shutout.
This year is a lot different. Parenteau already has two shutouts this year, both coming on the Raiders current seven-game win streak. He stopped all 24 shots he faced Wednesday in a 4-0 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings.
The win streak started back on Oct. 13, when Parenteau made 36 saves to beat the Portland Winterhawks 4-0 on the road.
“It was frustrating last year getting that first one out of the way almost,” said Parenteau. “I think this year, it’s just the confidence of the team in front of me. Last year, we seemed to have the tendency to always be climbing up from behind and not really holding leads.
